About Niconico Douga

Niconico Douga (ニコニコ動画/Nikoniko Dōga, lit. "Smile Videos") is a very popular Japanese video sharing site operated by Dwango's child division, Niwango. Its nickname is "Niconico" or "Nico-dō", where "nikoniko" is the Japanese onomatopoeia for smiling. Known for its MADs and Medleys, as well as the Big Three, called Vocaloid, Idolm@ster, and Touhou, and some other great content, this site is one of the most visited websites in Japan. It's trademark feature is the comment marquee, where comments are directly scrolling on the screen, in sync with the video. Together with Hiroyuki Nishimura, the administrator of Nico Nico Douga and the director of Niwango, it's atmosphere and context of culture is in sync with 2ch (Futaba Channel), and many popular videos on this site contains otaku tastes, such as anime, computer games, pop music, et cetera. THIS IS A MUSE SEE for all lovers of anime, games, and more.
